Welcome to the website of the 44th Ward Republicans. Here you are able to sign up for our e-mail messages, volunteer to help, apply to become a Judge of Election, Precinct Captain or other functionary, contact the Committeeman or any of the officers, and more.
The 44th Ward Regular Republican Organization, although in existence for many years, has begun to grow into a much larger and more powerful organization with the election of Jim Fuchs, our Committeeman, in March of 2004. We hold publicly open meetings once every month (always with a good speaker), organize and coordinate Election Day activities, and are beginning to get involved in community affairs. We welcome anyone who considers themselves to be a Republican, and try to educate the others. |

The purpose for the existence of our organization is to perform two vital functions:
- Officially we are to work with the Chicago Board of Elections to recruit, train and staff the polling places with Judges of Election.
- Carry on the political work of the Republican Party with respect to promoting and helping to elect Republican candidates, assist the party with party-building activities, and act as a liaison between the party and the voters of the ward.

If we are successful carrying out our purpose, we will make great strides to providing the voters of our ward – all voters – with fair and fraud free elections in which all candidates, regardless of party, are given a level playing field on Election Day. We intend to recruit and train, not only Election Judges, but also Precinct Captains and Poll-watchers who can perform their duties responsibly in support of the above-mentioned principles. We will restore the integrity of the polling place in the 44th Ward.
Furthermore, by helping to promote and elect Republican candidates to office, we may begin to create a balanced city, county, and state government, one that will respect the voter’s disdain for increased taxes and overly-obtrusive government intrusion into our business and personal lives. |

| The 44th Ward is one of fifty wards in the City of Chicago, sometimes identified as Wrigleyville, or Lakeview. Its southern boundary is Diversey Parkway (2800 North) and stretches as far north as Irving Park (4000 North), and from Lake Michigan on the east to Racine (1200 West) (south of Belmont) or Ashland (1600 West) (north of Belmont) on the west. It includes, of course, Wrigley Field, Belmont Harbor, the northern reaches of Lincoln Park, as well as thriving businesses and social outlets along North Clark Street and Broadway. The 44th Ward encompasses the Lakeview neighborhood, the original township of Lake View founded in the early 1800's and annexed by the City of Chicago in 1903. In March of 2004, our ward ranked sixth (out of fifty) of the highest Republican Primary voters. |
